The 1800 district sits up high, quieter than the centre, with open views and the Village 1800 and Petite Aiguille chairlifts close by. For a rental in the 1800 district, Le Sorbier mainly has 2-3 room apartments for up to 4 people, while Leslie Alpen offers large apartments for up to 12 people, sometimes 100 m from the slopes.

We recommend it to families and beginners: you have direct access to the easy green and blue runs of Belle Étoile and Village 1800. More confident skiers reach the high-altitude runs via Petite Aiguille, and non-skiers can go up to Belle Étoile on the Village 1800 chairlift, which is open to pedestrians.

The first departures are around Village 1800 and Petite Aiguille. The Village 1800 chairlift goes up to 2,100 metres; the Petite Aiguille one gives easier access to the high-altitude runs. Beyond, the Les 2 Alpes ski area spreads out over 220 km of runs, including 17 green and 46 blue runs, and 39 lifts, from 1,300 to 3,600 metres.

The free carpet lifts are at the bottom of the slopes, on the Front de Neige side, and three lifts are free: Champamé, Coolidge and Vikings. Once the first turns are mastered, the easy green and blue runs of Belle Étoile and Village 1800 take over.

To keep it easy, look at the Les Demoiselles green run in the Belle Étoile sector. For a long blue descent, the Jandri starts at 3,200 m and comes back down to the resort at 1,650 m. On the Vallée Blanche side, a new green run is recommended for complete beginners.

With the 1800 fitness and wellness centre, days without skiing have their own programme: heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sauna, hammam and jacuzzi, as well as two squash courts. Yoga is also practised in Village 1800, indoors after skiing or outdoors, on a high-altitude terrace.

The Jardins des Neiges and the Club Piou-Piou welcome children from age 3, in dedicated areas with carpet lifts or rope tows, for a half day or a full day, with childcare and meals depending on the package.

Many walks start from the Zone 1800 or pass through Village 1800: on foot, on snowshoes or canicross hiking. In fine weather, the summer toboggan, the mini-golf and the bowling alley can be reached from the Zone 1800.

For a stay for four, look first at Le Sorbier: our accommodation there is mainly 2-3 room apartments, for up to 4 people, and almost all have a parking space. The residence is on the route du Petit Plan, about 600 m on foot from the resort centre and 400 m on foot from the nearest lifts, with a free shuttle stop 20 m away.

To bring a large group together, we direct you to Leslie Alpen, a semi-detached all-wood chalet, facing full south and west, with a view of the Vallée Blanche. Our accommodation there mainly sleeps 8 people or more, up to 12, the largest format we have this winter in the 1800 district. Some properties are 100 m from the slopes, and the residence has a spa; lifts, shops and ESF meeting points are about 700 m away.

Grenoble is the closest SNCF station, about 75 km away: 1 h 40 by bus, 1 h 15 by car. In the resort, 8 free shuttle lines serve the resort and the villages, including the Zone 1800, with two night lines, numbers 5 and 6, to 1800 and the Zone du Soleil.
