Ski Holidays Saint-Martin-de-Belleville

From the village snow front, the Saint Martin 1 gondola connects with the Saint Martin Express and gives access to the runs of the 3 Vallées. For a rental in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville near the gondola, there are two areas: the Grangeraies district for 2-3 room apartments, and Caseblanche for chalets for up to 16 people.

At 1,450 metres, the historic centre has kept its barns and its narrow streets. The stone-and-wood chalets have lauze stone roofs, and the facades take on warm tones, from pink to grilla.

Families will find the ESF Saint-Martin-de-Belleville on site, a children's village and childcare facilities for 3 to 12 year olds. Non-skiers can try dog sledding or cani-hiking. Good skiers set off from the village towards Méribel, Courchevel or Val Thorens via the 3 Vallées links.

You leave the village on the Saint-Martin 1 gondola, which goes up to around 1,798 metres. Up there, the Saint Martin Express bubble chairlift takes over towards the summits: you first ski in the Les Menuires ski area, then the links take you into the 3 Vallées.

For your first turns, we recommend the runs that bring you back to the village. La Violette, a green run, comes down from Les Menuires to Saint-Martin and suits beginners as well as intermediate skiers. From the Pointe de la Masse, the Verdet and Biolley blue runs follow on gently down to the village, with a view of the valley.

At the top of the Saint Martin Express, the Gros Tougne blue run serves as a warm-up before heading further.

The Les Menuires ski area has 160 km of runs and rises to 2,850 metres.

Without skis, you can explore the valley on foot or on snowshoes. To discover the history of the village, follow the heritage trails or step inside the museum.

The sledging areas welcome children from age 6, accompanied.

To get up high without skiing, aim for the Pointe de la Masse: pedestrians go up by panoramic gondola, with a glass-floor option, and discover the mountains and the valley at the summit. Pedestrian passes also open certain lifts to non-skiers, to reach viewpoints.

After a day outdoors, the La Belle Vie centre brings together an aquatic leisure area, wellness and massages.

To stay close to the slopes and the ski school, look first at Caseblanche: some accommodation is 10 m from the slopes, the ski school is 100 m away and the Saint Martin gondola is 50 m away. This recent hamlet mainly has chalets for up to 16 people, with a spa in some accommodation and a parking space with almost all of it.

Le Chatelard mainly offers chalets for up to 14 people, some with a spa. Quieter, the hamlet of Le Bettex, at 1,590 metres, has its own chairlift to the Les Menuires runs, and a blue run lets you ski back there; its chalets sleep up to 12 people. Vilette has chalets and apartments for up to 10 people, with a swimming pool in some accommodation.

Biolley and Hors Piste are in the village centre, near the bakery, the mini-market and the pharmacy, with direct access to the drag lift run. Hors Piste adds large apartments for up to 8 people and a parking space with almost all its accommodation.

Look at the Grangeraies district, near the Saint Martin 1 gondola and 5 or 10 minutes' walk from the centre. It mainly has 2-3 room apartments, and two of its residences were our cheapest over the last two winters: Balcons de Tougnette in January, Murgers in February.

Moûtiers Salins Brides-Les-Bains station is 20 km away; you then go up by coach or taxi. Keys are collected depending on the accommodation, at our agency on Rue Saint Martin or at the Caseblanche handover point; the exact place and opening hours are shown on the voucher.
