The accommodation is dilapidated. Aside from the kitchen which has been renovated, everything in this studio is original. The large bay window is a real thermal and acoustic sieve. A minimum investment is essential to justify the exorbitant rental prices! Access to the building (for unloading and loading the car) is very poorly designed (the concept of a unloading/loading area apparently did not exist at its design...). The agency has too few badges for parking access... Once in the parking lot, it’s a complete mess... It would be good to have staff to organize this process. Another point directly related to the lack of professionalism of the Mountain Collection agency: I reported that the kitchen faucet was unusable because it was completely loose from the countertop. No one has come forward to resolve the issue!!! I took my tool kit out of the car and handled it myself. Luckily!!!! Really unprofessional on your part! However, I do appreciate the peace of this residence!

Having visited various apartments in the Bec Rouge since 1980, I notice that the decor is original (created by Bec Rouge). It’s vintage; why not maintain it, but the varnishes that are worn out need to be redone, and there is a bathtub with porous enamel.

Appartement très bien situé, avec tout le nécessaire, un séjour très ensoleillé, les activités My Tignes sont un plus. En bref les vacances furent formidables.

BEC ROUGE

The Bec Rouge residence is located in the heart of Tignes le Lac, nearby all amenties (ski rentals, bar, restaurant, supermarket, post office and the medical center). South facing with a ski in/out access and closed to ski schools meeting point. You will enjoy a nice overview for apartments located on upper floors. Departure point: MOUNTAIN COLLECTION agency in Tignes Le Lac -> Head for the BEC ROUGE residence. -> Leave the agency at 275 Promenade de Tovière. Continue along this one-way road and turn left in front of Hotel le VOULEZ-VOUS. Turn left again after the MAIRIE. Turn right at the end of the street, passing under the porch. Take the last exit off the small roundabout, then the second exit off the second roundabout. Take the tunnel towards Rue de la Poste. To unload, park in front of the BEC ROUGE residence on your right.

About the resort - Tignes ski area

The ski area

At Tignes you ride up through the mountain. The Perce-Neige, an underground funicular 3,490 metres long and the longest in France, has carried skiers from Val Claret to the foot of the Grande Motte glacier since 1993. The terrain spans 1,550 metres at the village of Les Brévières up to 3,456 metres at the top of the glacier, across five villages strung along the valley: Les Brévières, Les Boisses, Le Lavachet, Tignes le Lac and Val Claret. The resort also runs its own piste category, the Naturides, waymarked and patrolled but deliberately left ungroomed, for natural snow on a controlled route. Beyond it, 300 kilometres of linked runs continue into Val d'Isère.

What separates the linked Tignes - Val d'Isère area from either resort on its own is that a single pass covers two glaciers: the Grande Motte above Tignes, topping out at 3,456 metres, and the Pisaillas above Val d'Isère at 3,197 metres. Three hundred kilometres of pistes run between 1,550 and 3,456 metres, sixty percent of them above 2,000 metres, which is why the season here stretches from late November into early May. The terrain shifts character as you cross: wide open glacier skiing at altitude, steeper pitches on the Bellevarde and Solaise faces, gentler valley runs down towards Les Brévières. The area borders the Vanoise National Park, and the Pisaillas glacier lies inside it.
