Ski Holiday le Hameau de Flaine

On the former locality of Les Gérats, the Hameau stands out from Flaine Forum and Forêt with its Scandinavian-inspired chalets, in painted wood and bright colours. For a rental in the Hameau de Flaine, several of our properties are large, sleeping up to 12 people depending on the chalet.

The district has a few shops and a restaurant, as well as a swimming pool and a relaxation area. The atmosphere is quieter and more residential than in the central levels of Flaine, and a free shuttle links Le Hameau to all the other levels of the resort, including Forêt and Forum.

The ESF has Clubs Piou-Piou from about age 3, depending on snow conditions, and the ski schools are present in the different levels of Flaine.

We have accommodation at Hameau, Chalet de l’Arbaron and Chateaux de Crans. Key handover depends on the accommodation: the exact place and opening hours are shown on the voucher.

From the Hameau de Flaine, a blue run takes you to the lifts. The free ski bus also goes to the start of the runs and the ski school meeting points in Flaine Forêt. The Gérats chairlift serves sectors suitable for beginners, close to the Hameau.

For first turns, the resort centre has dedicated areas with free carpet lifts and télébenne, and beginner zones are marked out. Flaine has 7 green runs, and the long blue runs Serpentine and Cristal let you progress gently.

Flaine is part of the Grand Massif: 265 km of linked runs, all the way to Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval.

The Grandes Platières cable car goes up from Flaine Forum to around 2,500 metres, with a view of the Mont-Blanc massif. This is where the Cascades red run starts: about 14 km of descent down to Sixt.

Without skis in the Hameau de Flaine, you can set off on the pedestrian and snowshoe paths of the Domaine de l’Arbaron or the Domaine de la Combe Enverse, and marked trails let you walk around the Hameau in winter as in summer. The Nordic area of the Col de Pierre Carrée, at 1,844 metres, overlooks the Arve valley: cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and walks.

Flaine offers ESF and ESI group lessons with progression by level: some start from age 5, snowboarding from age 8. The Domaine de l’Arbaron sledging area welcomes children from age 6.

At the table, it is Savoyard produce: cheeses, cured meats, and raclette, for which the equipment can be rented. In Flaine Forum, you can buy cheese and cured meats by weight.

Three addresses for a rental in the Hameau de Flaine, in the same district of Scandinavian chalets with a few shops. What sets them apart is the size of the properties and their facilities.

For a large group, the Hameau residence: mainly chalets, for up to 12 people, our largest properties this winter. Some have a spa, the vast majority a parking space, and more than half accept pets.

For a large apartment, we recommend Chalet de l’Arbaron: nine apartments in a single chalet, mainly large properties for up to 8 people, as well as studios and ski lockers. About half of the properties accept pets, and about half have a parking space.

At Chateaux de Crans, our accommodation is mainly studios and 2-3 room apartments, for up to 6 people, with ski lockers. Pets are accepted in about half of the properties.
