The apartment itself was not a discovery, because we already rented the same past year. The value for money is good for a large apartment in Tignes. Some negative points still. Bed quality could be better. For people with back problems... it may be an issue. For young or robust back people... no issue. The 10th floor of the "tour du lac" is sometimes running short of hot water Between 6 and 8PM because the whole building has taken bath or shower... A "purge" of the radiators to avoid water circulation noise is also necessary on top floor (I did that every evening.

Accommodation was very nice and in a great location. Very quiet with a nice balcony in the sun in the afternoons. Ski in / Ski out is great. However the apartment was listed with WiFi available (see here where we booked: https://www.vrbo.com/2158006a) so I was disappointed to learn when we arrived that there was no Wifi. In 2025 WiFi should be standard in all apartments!! Also annoying to have to pay extra for towels / bedsheets - these should just be included as standard.

Quelques petites imperfections liees a de la casse anterieure et non reparees. Une etagere du refrigerateur casee et une ampoule. Une planche de lit non fixee. Le cable d'antenne qui ne peut pas se brancher car la prise dans le mur est \vide\. Des petits details seulement, car l'impression general du logement reste tres bonne. Un point a signaler, la literie, bien que plutot recente ne nous a pas convenu (lits vraiment trop mous).

Ideally placed in 2100 meters height, near slopes and close to shops, this residence is also served by the free shuttles of Tignes connecting its three areas. Direct ski departure facing the residence through the skier way linked to both lifts of Chaudanne and Paquis. COMPULSORY PARKING IN TIGNES. PRE-BOOKING DIRECTLY THROUGH THE AGENCY.

About Tignes ski area

The ski area

At Tignes you ride up through the mountain. The Perce-Neige, an underground funicular 3,490 metres long and the longest in France, has carried skiers from Val Claret to the foot of the Grande Motte glacier since 1993. The terrain spans 1,550 metres at the village of Les Brévières up to 3,456 metres at the top of the glacier, across five villages strung along the valley: Les Brévières, Les Boisses, Le Lavachet, Tignes le Lac and Val Claret. The resort also runs its own piste category, the Naturides, waymarked and patrolled but deliberately left ungroomed, for natural snow on a controlled route. Beyond it, 300 kilometres of linked runs continue into Val d'Isère.

The linked ski area

What separates the linked Tignes - Val d'Isère area from either resort on its own is that a single pass covers two glaciers: the Grande Motte above Tignes, topping out at 3,456 metres, and the Pisaillas above Val d'Isère at 3,197 metres. Three hundred kilometres of pistes run between 1,550 and 3,456 metres, sixty percent of them above 2,000 metres, which is why the season here stretches from late November into early May. The terrain shifts character as you cross: wide open glacier skiing at altitude, steeper pitches on the Bellevarde and Solaise faces, gentler valley runs down towards Les Brévières. The area borders the Vanoise National Park, and the Pisaillas glacier lies inside it.
