Ski Holiday Les Fontanettes

With a rental in Les Fontanettes, you stay in one of the five neighbourhoods of Les Menuires, quieter than the others. The resort is at 1,850 metres in altitude.

In the neighbourhood you will find equipment rental shops, ski pass sales points, a bread outlet and a restaurant. To get to La Croisette and Les Bruyères, the free shuttles run every 20 minutes; on foot, allow 10 to 15 minutes along the footpath. From Jettay, La Croisette is a 5-minute walk via the public stairs.

With children, the local rental shops offer suitable equipment: ski baby, baby carrier, junior skis. Beginners will find green runs in the resort, including Fontanettes and La Violette. Good skiers quickly reach the Masse sector, known for its sunshine and wide runs.

From a rental in Les Fontanettes, you ski in the Les Menuires ski area: 160 km of runs between 1,300 and 2,850 metres in altitude, with 13 green runs, 44 blue, 24 red and 8 black.

The Fontanettes green run, with a moderate gradient, bears the name of the neighbourhood. For practising, La Violette is another green run, wide and gentle. The Easy Rider ski pass gives access to lifts and runs suited to beginners, at a more affordable price.

Les Fontanettes offers quick access to the Masse sector, which we recommend to good skiers for its wide runs and sunshine. To go up: the Masse gondola and the Pointe de la Masse gondola. The Roc 1 gondola goes up towards La Croisette and the upper sectors.

From Les Menuires, the 3 Vallées link takes you to Méribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens without having to take off your skis.

In winter, marked walking and snowshoe trails go around the neighbourhoods, with an easy descent via the slopes or dedicated paths. In summer, marked paths lead to the Lac du Lou, the high-altitude lakes and the Masse balcony trail.

The day nursery and the mini club are on the Bruyères side, which the free shuttle links with Les Fontanettes every 20 minutes, and in the central sector. For an outing with children, there is sledging on snow or on rails and snowshoeing around Les Menuires.

Les Menuires has aquatic areas, including Le Break and La Bulle des Bruyères. Pedestrians can go up on the Roc 1 gondola to a viewpoint, with a panorama and lakes such as the Lac des Allamands. In summer, the resort adds a fun park, a summer toboggan and mountain bike routes accessible by lift.

For up to 4 people, Les Asters mainly offers 2-3 room apartments, and studios in building A2. In several buildings, almost all properties have a parking space. Astragales sleeps up to 5 people, in studios and 2-3 room apartments, with the slopes a 300 m walk away; it is the only residence where some properties accept pets (“Animals allowed” filter on our website).

For up to 6 people, Campanules, Argousier and Asters C6 mainly offer 2-3 room apartments. Almost all properties at Les Campanules have a parking space, and at Les Asters building C6 is the closest to the slope, with some properties 100 m away. For 8 people, Jettay is the only residence with large apartments; it offers free parking at the foot of the building, and La Croisette is a 5-minute walk via the public stairs.

The nearest SNCF station is Moutiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains, which serves the 3 Vallées. By road, you arrive via the Tarentaise valley up to Les Belleville. In the resort, the free shuttles serve Fontanettes Haut and Fontanettes Bas, and public lifts make it easier to walk between neighbourhoods.
