Ski Holiday Val Claret - Centre

At 2,100 m, Val Claret is the village of Tignes from which the Perce-Neige funicular departs, climbing inside the mountain up to the Grande Motte glacier. When renting in Val Claret Centre, look above all at the distance to the slopes depending on the residence: some accommodation is 10 m away, others 50 or 100 m, from studios to large apartments for up to 14 people.

The village lives around its large snow front, with its shops, the ESF office and the tourist office, without depending on the other Tignes villages.

Most of our customers come here as a family, and several of our residences are opposite the ESF children's area. Among friends, in the evening, bars and nightclubs are at the foot of some buildings.

This winter we rent accommodation in 32 residences in the centre of Val Claret. You put your skis on at the snow front, in the centre of the village, where the lifts start. The Tufs chairlift goes up to the summit of Tovière; for the Grande Motte, it is the Perce-Neige funicular.

First slides are made on four free conveyor lifts in the centre of the village, including Claret and Centre. Once you can stand on your skis, the Bollin chairlift, free for beginners, leads to secure green or blue runs.

From the Bollin chairlift, little ones come down the Animaux super-héros fun run. ESF group lessons welcome children with the Club Piou Piou for 3-5 year olds, then Ourson lessons for 6-12 year olds in a secure snow garden.

The Tignes ski area has 150 km of runs, from 1,550 to 3,450 metres. With the Domaine Tignes - Val d'Isère ski pass, which you can add to your rental, Les Tufs and Fresse take you from Val Claret to the Val d'Isère slopes.

Without skis, the free inter-village shuttle takes you to Val d'Isère. In summer, the activity base in the centre, next to the Tufs chairlift departure, offers trampolines, table tennis and games for children.

The Kid's Club, a snow day centre, welcomes children from 2 and a half to 6 years old for the day or half-day, up to a maximum of 8 children.

In summer, the Tufs and Fresse chairlifts also take pedestrians and mountain bikers up from Val Claret, for the panorama of the peaks or to set off hiking.

At the table, it is Savoie: raclette, fondue, tartiflette. After skiing, restaurants, bars and après-ski are at the foot of the Rond Point des Pistes B and C residences.

To put your skis on almost as you leave the building, look first at the Rond Point des Pistes A, B and C: some accommodation there is 10 m from the slopes, the Perce-Neige funicular is a stone's throw away, and a supermarket, ski rental shops and bars are at the bottom of the residence.

Tommeuses, Borsat and the Hameau du Borsat are in a quiet district, opposite the ESF children's area, with a bakery and a mini-market at the bottom of the residence. Some accommodation is 10 m from the slopes at Tommeuses and Borsat, 100 m at the Hameau du Borsat.

To stay as a large group, we recommend the Grand Tichot B: our largest properties this winter sleep up to 14 people there. At Curling B Tour, in the centre of the village, the large apartments sleep up to 10 people. Rond Point des Pistes A and Tufs sleep up to 8, with some accommodation 10 and 50 m from the slopes.

For a tight budget, Hameau du Borsat 1&2 was the least expensive of our residences in February over the last two winters. The closest station is Bourg-Saint-Maurice, from where the S83 bus goes up to Val Claret. In the resort, the free shuttles run 24 hours a day, and the Tignes 2100 circuit links Val Claret to Le Lac and Le Lavachet. The “Accès Val Claret Centre” lift links the car parks and lower points to certain areas of the village.
